Plot
Think of a magical place, far away at the rainbow's end. It's a place called Rainbow Land, where all the colors for the world are made. In this magical place lives a very special little girl, Rainbow Brite.
Rainbow Brite has a very big job indeed: with the help of the Color Kids and her magical horse Starlite she brings green to the trees, blue to the sky and yellow to the sun---all the colors to the world!
But even a place like Rainbow Land has it's gloomy side. In "The Mighty Monstromurk Menace," Rainbow Brite must once again face Murky Dismal and his bumbling side kick Lurky. And now they have an even greater foe, Murky's most ferocious invention, the Mighty Monstromurk, whose power can drain all the color from the world. It's up to Rainbow Brite and her friends to see that all the colors stay bright and beautiful! Will Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids save Rainbow Land? Watch them and see!
Full Summary: The Mighty Monstromurk Menace (Part Two)
Murky ducks into the suit as Lurky walks through the wall. Brian chances Murky and Lurky to the Rainbow Wall, but they pass through the wall before he can catch them.
Starlite and the others arrive, asking where Rainbow went, and Brian tells them what happened.
Meanwhile, in the wall the bottle begins to glow, but Murky doesn't know how. Rainbow looks calm and collected, sitting still in the bottle which glows brightly in his hands.
When they get out of the wall, they get in the Grunge Buggy and head to the Pits. The Color Kids plan to go after them and rescue Rainbow. The Rainbow River will flow straight into the Pits, and the way is so dangerous they wouldn't be thought to travel that way.
Brian, Twink, and Red Butler all get in a boat and head down the river.
Murky and Lurky head to the Pits, but Murky is suspicious of the Glowing bottle, while discussing it with Lurky he accidentally drops the bottle which tumbles down and into the river.
Leaving the bottle to be crushed in the raging rapids, Murky and Lurky leave to his laboratory, and try to formulate a way to control the Monstromurk.
But the bottle doesn't break. Rainbow's powers , and the cork bursts out with rainbow and all the color. At that time Starlite and Romeo run past, and Romeo shows him that Rainbow has escaped.
Rainbow tells them that she used the power from the Rainbow Wall to increase her magic, and cause the rainbow to burst from the bottle. Romeo remind Rainbow that Red Butler and Brian have gone down the rapids with Twink to rescue her. The rainbow won't carry all of them, so they send Romeo on the rainbow, to go back to Rainbow Land. There all the kids are supposed to take the Star Sprinkles and pour them in the river.
The kids get the message and start to work.
While this is happening the boat in the river with the boys crashes and they are poured into the river.
They are able to climb into a cave, but the cave opens into the secret laboratory of Murky Dismal. In a competition to see who knows more about what, Red and Brian cause rocks to tumble into the river, and alerts Murky to their presence. He closes the cave, and the water starts to fill the cave.
But the Color Kids pour their sprinkles into the river. The water turns into solid sparkles and flows down the river. Rainbow and Starlite ride the river down into the Pits.
Murky taunts the boys as the cave fills and closes his window, but just in time to miss the golden road of sprinkles enter, and Rainbow and Starlite rescue them.
Once out of the water, Rainbow uses the power of the water and the sprinkles to knock out the walls, and using the rainbow energy from the river she gets a rainbow up to the top of Murky's cave, and into the Pits.
Inside his lab Murky is making a crown radiated with a "Mem-o-ray", which will allow him to control whoever wears it. The "Mem-o-ray" will cause the Monstromurk to forget everything but what is told to them. They see this when Lurky puts the crown on Murky by mistake, but when it is removed he returns to normal.
Murky calls the Monstromurk in and hands him the crown to be "King of Rainbow Land"
When the Monstromurk places the crown on his head, he forgets who he is, and Murky commands him to attack Rainbow Land.
Rainbow and the others leave the Pits, but as they try to escape the Monstromurk gathers all the Sprinkles from the river, and drains the rainbow of it's power. It also gathers the magic bottle from the river. Lurky takes the bottle and keeps it.
At the Rainbow Wall the Monstromurk drains it of all it's power and it crumbles. The kids hide in the cave and get more sprinkles. Rainbow arrives and she takes the sprinkles.
Murky sees this and tells the Monstromurk to attack, and Brian runs into the beam having all his color drained, but rescuing the Color Kids. The color kids thanks him, and rainbow absorbs the sprinkles.
With sacks of crystals rainbow follows the Monstromurk and hits him with the rainbow, which wraps him and Murky and Lurky in rainbows. It becomes a battle between murk and color, and Rainbow wins, sending the Monstromurk falling to the ground. Lurky drops the magic bottle and they all get sucked inside, but as it rebounds off the ground Murky and Lurky get thrown into bushes, and the Monstromurk is trapped in the bottle. Brian runs over and stuffs a stick in the top so he can't get out.
The Monstromurk after 700 years of trying to get out, is now back in the bottle.
Murky and Lurky return to the Pits, defeated.
Rainbow returns the colors to Brian, and asks that Brian to visit again. To remind him she ties a rainbow string around his finger. Then she takes him back home over the rainbow.

Trivia
1: To remind Brian of Rainbow Land, Rainbow Brite ties a "string" around his finger. This is an old tradition used to remind people of tasks they have to do. The string appears to be attached to Brian's skin, though it never appears in any other episode.
