Krys

Krys is a young warrior from the planet Spectra. He was taught to protect the diamond planet by the wise old Orin. He is head strong, and arrogant, not unlike Red Butler in Rainbow Land. He insists he can get by without a girl for help, but little does he know the Prism, a device given to him will only work with the rainbow, so he and Rainbow Brite have to work together to defeat their enemies.

Krys appeared first in the Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer movie and made a cameo appearance a few episodes of the television show that soon followed. His character did not move to Rainbow Land, as first suspected by the closing scene of Star Stealer. He still lives on Spectra and visits Rainbow Land from time to time.

Early concepts of Krys had his name as Krys-Tal and he was Rainbow Brite's Cousin from the Planet Spectra.^[1] This concept was dropped, however he was designed to be the male equivalent of Rainbow Brite. The Press Kit for the Star Stealer film even gave him a cheek star like Rainbow's.^[2]

On-X

Krys has a robotic horse named On-X, a gift from his old teacher, Orin. On-X is spirited even though he is a machine.
